Classroom Management course
Classroom management is an area that overwhelms teachers all over the world and needs to be approached according to the situation at that time because each class is unique. It is not easy for a teacher to present content, make sure that learning is happening, keep a large class motivated, create activities that engage, cater to needs and interests of all and then evaluate the whole process and also evaluate one’s own effectiveness. It is a tall order and all teachers consider classroom management the most challenging aspect of their teaching jobs.
‘Our teacher is always stressed. All he does is shout, shout, shout. He needs to calm down, stop taking it out on us’
We often hear this comment from children who are having problems with school. Pupils in school are very aware of the mental and physical state of their teachers. Sometimes the approach of the teacher has long lasting impact on the learners. It is not just about what the teacher is teaching in terms of content but everything that is happening in the classroom is important.
Sometimes it is important for the teacher to reflect on the task and evaluate whether it is too challenging or too simple for the learners resulting in disengagement. It is important for teachers to reflect on all that they do and observe.
The Classroom Management Course from Asian College of Teachers in both distance and online learning mode makes teachers aware of effective techniques, approaches to discipline, time management, how to handle large and mixed ability classes irrespective of the subject area being taught.
Classroom management has a lot more to it than merely bringing discipline in a classroom. Our Classroom Management Course trains teachers to control the behavior of the students by restricting undesired behaviors and increasing desired behaviors. In other words, a teacher learns to channelize the energy of students in positive activities like participating in the lessons instead of creating chaos in a classroom. A Classroom Management Course helps teachers to learn the importance of inculcating educational games, question and answer rounds and introducing the concepts of awarding students with rewards and recognition to facilitate participation of students in lessons thereby, ensuring maximum retention of knowledge and skills.
This course is only available in online mode of learning.
